Or How the Right Have Finally Found Their Principles

Peel back the layers of the onion and when you get to the heart of Republican Principles, a word and phrase we have heard ad nauseum, they are soft and squishy. While peeling an onion that had sat in the drawer too long that analogy attacked me and held me down until I agreed to put it on paper. Now that poor pathetic rotten onion is being blamed in my analogy; blamed for all of the hate and bitterness, calumny and meanness of spirit the voices of the right are heaping on the rest of us.

Like most people I watch more than participate in the trials and tribulations of political parties. Their pageants and promotional literature looks like bad plays and poorly constructed propaganda to me most of the time. For the last eight years I watched as a man who tried to abolish as much of the Constitution as he could get away with twice took the oath of office administered to our Presidents. I was no more impressed with the Democrats most of the time during those years so you can stick your practiced rant where the sun can't dry it out. .

The meaning of that oath is really clear. The President is supposed to devote his attention to upholding the Constitution. That is his main job. The Right Wing got their boy elected twice, once by the Supreme Court and once by the people. During that whole eight years a lot of talk about principles led us to the most unprincipled leadership vacuum in our history.

So those who have listened to the Right long enough to become Ditto Heads are still riding on the Limbaugh express to nowhere. People like Tom Delay are more annoying now that they have finally lost an important election. That should be expected. The people have stopped listening to them so they are turning up the volume. The only problem is that the press hasn't got the message from the audience yet.

Watching Chris Matthews pander to Delay who hasn't examined the truth much of his life is mildly nauseating. Hearing the screams emanating from the masters of crony politics who have left this country without policies to address health care or even energy for fifty years is seriously annoying. They did that while enriching themselves and their friends at the public till. If they were smart they would slip away quietly and await their next chance.

Obama won in a landslide and he is doing the job we hired him to do. He is attempting to turn this country around. Anti-government slogans and anti-tax literature have one purpose. They try to deny people the right to determine the course of our future by defacing the very creation of this nation that has made it great.

We invented our own form of Participatory Democracy over the last three hundred and fifty years. It started with the first settlers and grew and changed a lot over that time. That is how we elect our government. That method is what set us aside from the rest of the world. In a participatory democracy the people eventually decide who to tax and how much is too much.

If you don't like that fact Rush and Tom there is a great farm for sale outside of Moscow with your name on it. Putin will love you to death.
